The "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal, managed by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, has launched the "Green and Digital Silk Road" international acceleration program within the framework of the "Startup School 3" project. The program brings together participants and partners from Central Asia, Silk Road countries, as well as the USA, Germany, and Malta. Its main goal is to support startups developing products and services in the fields of green and digital innovation and to integrate new startups into the ecosystem. The initiative also aims to strengthen regional cooperation, foster the exchange of innovative ideas, and create investment opportunities. By promoting digitalization and green technologies, the program contributes to sustainable development and digital transformation in participating countries. Ultimately, it seeks to encourage the creation of innovative solutions with a lasting regional and global impact.

The main categories of the Startup School 3 project have been selected in accordance with both regional challenges and global activities to accelerate digitalization for countries and shape a green economy.

The proposed categories are: 1. Digital Innovation and Technology - This direction includes promoting new technological solutions and digital transformation. Startups and innovative companies can contribute to the digitalization of the economy by developing innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and cloud technologies. 2. Green Finance and Sustainable Economy - It focuses on financial mechanisms that support sustainable economic development. This includes green investments, environmental social governance (ESG) principles, carbon markets, and financial models aimed at combating climate change. The goal is to develop business and startup ecosystems that ensure environmental sustainability.

• Direct access to distinguished experts and mentors from the USA, Germany, South Korea, China, Türkiye, and other countries; • Global knowledge exchange and the opportunity to join an international network of startup ecosystem participants; • Potential investment opportunities from local and international venture funds (including the USA, Malta, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan); • Awarded for participating in online trainings in the “Green and Digital Silk Road” international acceleration program within the framework of the “Startup School 3” project. • Free, high-quality online training programs for startups; • Individualized professional mentorship support for each team; • Practical knowledge and real-world experience sharing in areas such as digital transformation, green technologies, market strategy, and more; • The chance to meet global and local investors during “Demo Day”; • Opportunities to access regional and global markets; • Grants and other funding opportunities; • The possibility of obtaining a “Startup Certificate”; • Access to a collaboration platform with public and private sector institutions within the program; • Networking with international organizations and establishing partnerships for future projects; • Public recognition and media exposure for successful startups; • Final stage 1st and 2nd place winners (2 projects) will each receive a 1000 AZN travel ticket voucher from Baku Holiday Travel.

All stages of the program are conducted in English.

Selection criteria: Innovativeness and technological basis of the project; Market potential and growth opportunities; Strong and functional team composition; The idea must be pre-tested or at the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage; Potential to create value in terms of social and environmental impact.

Implementation period of the "Green and Digital Silk Road" international acceleration program within the “Startup School 3” project: Registration stage – April–August 1, 2025 Selection stage – July–August 1, 2025 Training sessions – August–October 2025 Identification of finalists – October 1–15, 2025 Mentoring support – October–November 1, 2025 Demo Day – November 2025

Yes, the program actively encourages collaboration among participating startups. Through group workshops, networking sessions, and joint activities, teams can connect and collaborate not only with local startups but also with those coming from different countries, creating valuable international partnerships.

Yes. Successful projects are formally registered and promoted to potential investors via the https://enterpriseazerbaijan.gov.az/ platform, ensuring broader visibility and access to funding opportunities. Moreover, during the “Demo Day” scheduled to take place in Baku in November 2025, selected startups from the program will have the unique opportunity to pitch their ventures and establish direct connections with international investors.
