GovChat’s platform and data provides insight on unemployment, service delivery, the average South African household, inequality, development, location, and demographics.

GovChat’s data is used by oversight bodies such as the Presidency of South Africa, municipalities, the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Ministry, the Department of Planning,Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) and Stats SA for capacity planning and early warning.

GovChat has millions of data sets which can be used to support research across various fields of studyand serve as a foundation upon which extensive research may be built – these are used to assist institutions such as the United Nations, as well as various academic institutions with research projects related to areas such as economics, gender based violence, social welfare and more.
