The “Green and Digital Silk Road” international acceleration program has successfully concluded

The “Green and Digital Silk Road” international acceleration program, organized by the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal under the “Startup School 3” initiative of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), has successfully concluded. The program’s finale, the “Demo Day,” was held at the Azerbaijan Innovation Center.

The opening segment of the event featured an exhibition of startups that reached the final stage of the acceleration program. Over 30 innovative projects from Azerbaijan and Turkey were showcased, covering sectors such as green energy, digital technologies, agritech, artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, tourism, chemical industry, and more.

An international jury, comprising representatives of venture funds from Azerbaijan, Malta, the United States, and Turkey, evaluated the projects.

During the “Demo Day,” key speakers - including Prof. Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC; Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs; Farid Osmanov, Chairperson of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency; and Javid Abdullayev, Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency - addressed the audience, highlighting the development of the national innovation ecosystem and the expansion of international collaborations.

Isa Gasimov, Head of the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal, presented the program’s objectives, stages, and achieved outcomes.

Selected startups, including Agro Gemtin, Smart Bin, The Bioplastic, Green Guest, SoilCredit, Zeuph, and Science Delta, were given the opportunity to make additional presentations during the event.

Prof. Vusal Gasimli awarded plaques to the jury members in recognition of their support. Subsequently, Murat Baday, Founder of the U.S.-based Synapses Ventures and Professor at Stanford University, and Gonca Kara, representative of the Malta-based A8 Acceleration Center, shared insights on the program’s contributions to the regional innovation ecosystem and provided guidance to participating startups.

The program’s top three startups were announced at the conclusion of the event:

1st Place: Agro Gemtin

2nd Place: Smart Bin (Turkey)

3rd Place: The Bioplastic

Additionally, “Baku Holiday Travel,” a program partner, awarded travel vouchers to the first and second-place winners. Synapses Ventures also granted two teams the opportunity to participate in two elite startup programs in Silicon Valley with full scholarships.

Enterprise Azerbaijan’s “Startup School” projects are conducted in collaboration with the German Artificial Intelligence Research Center and the Nevada University Center for Entrepreneurship in the United States. “Startup School 3” partnered with numerous international organizations and cooperated with the Silk Road High-Tech Parks Association (SRHPA).
