Within the framework of the World Urban Forum 13, a meeting was held at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication with a delegation led by Ali Dar, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives. The delegation comprised senior government officials of Pakistan, leading entrepreneurs, and the head of the Azerbaijan Trade House operating in Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Pakistani delegation was provided with a comprehensive overview of the operational mechanisms of the Azexport.az portal, operated by the Center. Detailed information was presented regarding its integration with global e-commerce platforms and the opportunities it creates for local entrepreneurs to access international markets.
Ali Dar emphasized Pakistan’s interest in deepening bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of e-commerce, highlighting the importance of leveraging digital platforms to realize the economic potential of both countries. In particular, he noted that concrete steps would be undertaken to adapt and implement the successful “Azexport” model within Pakistan.
The Head of the Azexport portal, Aykhan Gadeshov, highly appreciated Pakistan’s recent achievements in digital solutions, technological innovation, and human capital development at the international level. He underlined Azerbaijan’s readiness to share its experience in building e-commerce infrastructure and establishing institutional mechanisms with the Pakistani side.
Furthermore, the delegation was introduced to another innovative initiative of the Center, the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal. The Head of the platform, Isa Gasimov, elaborated on its role in fostering the startup ecosystem, attracting investments, and supporting young entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that on May 17, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the delegation led by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, further underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
