A session dedicated to the development of leadership skills was held at the "Startup School 4" program
Another training session took place within the “Leadership and Team Management" module of the global innovation program “Startup School 4: Five Continents, 500 Startups,” implemented under the initiative of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal, operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC). The session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ünsal Sığrı, Vice-Rector of OSTİM Technical University (Türkiye), on the topic “The Foundations of Leadership: Self-Management, Focus, and Essential Skills.”
The session featured in-depth discussions on the core components of modern leadership, the role of self-management in shaping leadership competencies, and the importance of personal development. The trainer emphasized that effective leadership begins with self-awareness—accurately assessing one’s strengths and weaknesses and aligning actions with clearly defined goals.
Within the training, participants were introduced to several key practical approaches in leadership, including:
- Attention management, maintaining focus, effective time and priority setting, and enhancing productivity;
- Agile and responsive decision-making in changing environments;
- The complementary roles of technical (hard skills) and behavioral (soft skills) competencies in leadership development;
- Effective communication, responsibility, initiative-taking, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
