The “Startup School” project was organized in Karabakh-Khankendi by the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” and “Azexport” portals of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), as well as the “Karabakh Training Center”.
The main goal of the project was to promote entrepreneurship and startup initiatives, innovative and investment-oriented projects in the liberated territories, as well as to increase practical knowledge and skills in the field of digital trade and project management.
The event was attended by teachers and students of Karabakh University and Baku Business University, representatives of entrepreneurs and residents of industrial parks. Ayten Mammadova, head of the “Karabakh Training Center”, Ibad Abbasov, rector of Baku Business University, Alakbar Mammadov, head of the Karabakh Territorial Taxes Main Department, and Kenan Suleymanli, representative of the Karabakh Regional Employment Branch, made speeches and emphasized the importance of measures taken to develop innovative entrepreneurship in the region.
During the speeches, detailed information was provided on tax incentives applied in the region, employment programs, digital platforms available for startups and export-oriented entrepreneurs, access to international markets, university-industry cooperation and measures taken to develop human capital.
Then, trainings on the topics of “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Startup Activity” and “Digital Trade and Azexport Portal Services” were held under the presentation of Isa Gasimov, Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal of the CIERT, Aykhan Gadashov, Head of the “Azexport” portal, and Matanat Rasulova, Human Resources Manager.
In the second half of the day, presentations of startup projects were listened to and discussed. Recommendations were given for the development of projects and mentoring services were provided.
About 50 teachers and students benefited from training and mentoring services within the framework of the project. Certificates were presented to participants who successfully completed the program.
It should be noted that the "Startup School - Karabakh" project is aimed at creating an innovative entrepreneurial environment in the region, supporting local initiatives, and ensuring sustainable economic development. Discussions are currently underway to continue the project.
