The opening ceremony and first training session of the global innovation program “Startup School 4: Five Continents, 500 Startups”, implemented by the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), have been held.
Opening the event, Head of the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal, Isa Gasimov, expressed his gratitude to the partners, international experts, and participants supporting the implementation of the program. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering the innovation ecosystem, promoting an entrepreneurial culture, and strengthening international cooperation.
Project Manager Aydan Huseynzade provided participants with an overview of the program structure, mentoring sessions, and the final stage of the initiative. Within the framework of the program, startup teams will participate in 20 training sessions covering 11 modules. In the subsequent phase, participants will have the opportunity to further develop their projects through individual mentoring support.
The first training session was delivered by Gonca Kara and Martin Vieira, representatives of the Malta-based company Deep Tech Foundry. Dedicated to the topic “Sustainable Economy: European Opportunities,” the session focused on sustainable development priorities in Europe, the emergence of the green economy, the contribution of innovation and technology to sustainable development goals, as well as new business and financing opportunities available to startups.
Participants gained insights into Europe’s green transformation processes, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and innovative entrepreneurship models. In addition, detailed information was provided on existing support mechanisms and international collaboration opportunities for startups operating in the field of sustainable development.
The “Startup School 4: Five Continents, 500 Startups” program brings together experts, mentors, and innovation ecosystem representatives from different countries around the world, supporting participating startups in gaining access to global knowledge, expertise, and investment opportunities. The program will culminate with a “Demo Day” event to be held within the framework of the TEI Forum 2026 (Trade, Export and Innovation).
